SOMEBODY HELP ME
Plot Synopsis, Review
A group of friends head into the woods to a cabin for a weekend to remember. The next day some are missing, and soon after remaining friends start to go missing which is reminiscent of the towns grissly past.
Another generic horror flick released straight to the retail shelves. The movie is filled with cliche's left, right and center. It's also pretty boring which is a trifle annoying whilst your trying to sit through out. The film is very black oriented, and could be sub-genred as ghetto horror alongside Snoop Doggs Bones and Hood of Horror. 90% of characters are black and they are all the stereotypical bunch. One scene in the movie made me burst out in laughter. One of the characters says "A bunch of black people in a white town. We are scary. What will they think?". It was just hilarious. There were bits of blood and gore here and there, but it's just a really lazy and generic offering. The ending was no surprise either.
The plot is not original, with a bunch of people heading to a remote area in he wood. The cops are always dumbasses in these towns, and theres always some murder history and creepy neighour which Somebody Help Me of course uses. The characters weren't likeable at all, they were very dimwitted and annoying, especially when there are two key points where the killer has been hurt but they leave him alone and he of course escapes both times. There was also many ridiculous characters that really had nothing to do with anything, and murder scenes in which the characters aren't even introduced.
The acting was average. I'd be surprised if they all don't have a song each on the soundtrack. Towards the end I really got sick of hearing the characers scream "somebody help me". We get it. You want someone to help you. They even wail it after someone is going to get the keys to free them.
Overall Somebody Help Me is full of the usual cliches, and just another predictable and forgettable horror flick. My rating is 2/5.
