Plot Synopsis, Review
In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead - and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap Fun. Before I start, I have to say I have no seen an of the other Resident Evil films, and only saw this because I won tickets to it. The beginning was confusing mainly because I most likely needed to see the others in order to understand Alice's capabilities etc etc. It was entertaining throughout and always kept me on edge of me seat, at a few points making me jump. Many WTF? moments, but the film was able to keep my concentration which is a plus. Slow-Motion was heavily used in action scenes, but I loved it. It's a video-game action adaption and thats exactly what it lives up to. The ending was left opened, so hopefully another installment comes along and i'll understand by watching it's preceeders. The plot was just another adaption to the original film from several years ago. The only plot holes I could find were that the audience (like me) weren't given a heads up on what has happened in the previous films which can severely change someones opinion about a movie. There was no use in the 3D to be honest, only sequences of raining were excellently effective with the 3D. The acting was great. Milla Jovovich has planted a seed with this franchise and has been great in The Fourth Kind and A Perfect Getaway also. Ali Larter also has some good knots on her belt with Final Destination 1 + 2, and she was great too. Overall "Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D" is a fun and entertaining action flick that promises more. My rating is 3/5.
