Plot Synopsis, Review
Imagine if our wireless technoligies made a connection to a world beyond our own. Imagine if that world used it as a doorway into ours, and that the connection in can't be shut down. When you turn on your mobile, or log on to your computer, they'll get in... you'll be infected... and they'll be able to take from you what they don't have anymore - LIFE.
Average. If you take a look at all these supernatural esque films, none really stand out because they all lack one thing. The problem is almost never ever resolved, which in most cases is good, but when a shit ending doesn't make up for it, it's bad. The film's scares were trying too hard, and never succeeded in scaring us. I will admit that the "people" (If thats what they are) from the other world were sometimes creepy, but there underusage and presence didn't leave a mark.
The plot was complex. We had to remember all this information throughout or we would get lost, and many times I did get consumed in the plot. The little love story towards the end was cliche and predictable as it happens in basically every movie anyway. As for being fresh, It wasn't. Apart from the overdose of suicides in the film, the plot was nothing NEW
the acting was good. "Kristen Bell" was depressing as her depressed character, which worked well, however "Ian Somerhalder" had a character always seeming to change. "Christina Milian" provided a laugh at a scene where it was supposed to be "horrifying".
Overall "Pulse" tries to hard to be scary, has a shitty ending, and doesn't manage to stand out as far as supernatural thrillers go. My rating is 2/5.
