Plot Synopsis, Review
After a Halloween party is shutdown at a 150 year old Haunted House, a group get locked in and must stay the night. They soon realise the house has some terrible demons that are about to be unleashed.
Bad. This is an awful movie. Aren't we so lucky that this film's theatrical release was cancelled, because watching bad acting and a boring story would definately make anyone want their money back. The flick starts off exciting and promising, but as it gradually movies along with fast paced cheap-thrills, it loses the audience. It never gets you hooked and falls flat shortly after the party is shutdown. The make-up effects on the demons were excellent though, very cool stuff.
The plot is an extremely modernised take on the 80's flick of the same name. Not-surprisingly it has pretty much nothing to do with the original, just taking a few bits here and there. The plot was fast paced, but the relatively simple and stupid plot doesn't ignite the viewer. Some scenes were supposed to make the audience be shocked (such as a lipstick getting pushed through a boob and coming out a vagina) but they didn't quite work because of the unbelievability of the acting,
The acting was horrible. You would think that with such experience, including in the horror genre (Thir13en Ghosts) that Shannon Elizabeth would be half good, but it seems as she ages her acting loses. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning's Diora Baird isn't a great actress in general, so there's no surprise she was bad. Lead cast Monica Keena (freddy vs Jason) and Michael Arata were the worst of the bunch.
Overall "Night of the Demons" had terrible acting, a boring plot and is a silly remake and try-hard film. Make-Up effects are the only plus. My rating is 2/5.
