Plot synopsis, Review
Owen, a young boy bullied constantly at school, lives in an apartment building. When a mysterious young girl moves in next door, strange things start happening in town.
Boring. I must admit, I didn't really enjoy the original 2008 flick, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, so it's no surprise this remake isn't a hit with me. It was just plain boring and I could never really enjoy myself. I have to say that maybe it's more of a film for older audiences for the fact that it's more on the dramatic side between the love story with the two young characters. It had some moments of blood and gore that were pretty cool, but it was just not a good film to me.
The plot is a US adaption (thats right, ANOTHER ONE) of a Swedish film, which was adapted from a book. It was a pretty simple plot, and somewhat relatable in the bullying sense, but it could never pick up the ball and keep it rolling because it was slow paced and boring.
The acting was good. Chloe Moretz has experience in horror, playing the young daughter in the 05' remake of The Amityville Horror, a cancer patient in The Eye and lead character in Wicked Little Things. She's most known as Hit-Girl from Kickass, but she was really good in this. She knows how to work the camera and play innocent girls. Kodi Smit-McPhee played Owen, and was successfully in making the audience sympathise for him.
Overall "Let Me In" has a fine moral and is great visually, but is let down by the fact it's just boring. My rating is 2/5.
