Plot Snyopsis, Review
Twenty years ago on the night of Halloween, Laurie Strode was terrorized by her psychopathic brother, Michael Myers. Despite his apparent death in a fire, Laurie is still plagued by the chilling memories. She has changed her name and now works as a headmistress at a secluded private school. Somehow though, she can't escape her past and tonight, Halloween night, it's coming back to haunt her...
Shit. You'd think that because it's been 20 years that Michael would be angrier and more determined to get his sister, but it seemed like he was more hell bent on killing some randoms first. If anything, this is a slow paced bore-fest that doesn't have a decent body count, never keeps you entertained and has a fight sequence too short and predictably rushed. Every horror cliche was pulled out from the invincible killer, the pathetically clueless characters and an ending so predictable it's was laughable. The open scene made the film seem promising, but nothing happened again until about an hour later, and it wasn't worth it.
The plot was an extention on the never-ending successful franchise that began in the late 70's. This film doesn't take place in Haddonfield, and for a killer that could potentially be so realstic, the film fails to make it seem that way. Michael must be in his late 40's early 50's, and there is no way that someone that age can roam around getting stabbed and getting into all sorts of mess handling it like nothing happened.
The acting was mediocre. 'Jamie Lee Curtis' was passable coming back to the role that started her in showbiz, and even she looked as if she'd had enough towards the end. 'Michelle Williams' and 'Josh Hartnett' played supporting roles of son and girlfriend, and were pretty pointless when it came down to plot as they really had nothing to do with anything.
Overall "Halloween H20" is an extremely weak sequel that takes to long to get into killings, and even then they aren't worth the wait. My rating is 1/5.
