Plot Synopsis, Review
15 years after his father died on their sheep farm, the youngest of two sons returns home only to find his brother has been experimenting with sheep, turning them into flesh eating monsters. Now, he and a hippie girl must fight for survival against the mutant animals before they too... will become one of them.
Gorey. I had really low expectations of this movie, which were understandable. The film was extremely satisfying in giving us blood and gore, which definately over-threw the simple plot. There's no doubt New Zealand had to have this movie, and no surprise there was beastiality in the film. It was relatively boring apart from the attack scenes, and the depiction of sheep does make them seem alot scarier now.
The plot was simple, and effective in keeping us occupied, but towards the end it fell through and wasn't able to maintain the audience 100% of the time. More character building would've been better, because instead of feeling remorse for the characters, I was trying to think of what else I had seen them in, which is a bad sign when watching a movie.
Overall "Black Sheep" is a watchable fresh take on the horror/comedy and creature feature sub-genre, but ultimately fails in standing out against the crowd. My rating is 2.5/5.
