Lake Mungo
"Lake Mungo" is yet to be released, and who knows whether it'll be released theatrical, but judging by the trailer, it looks pretty sweet. The plot is:
A 15 year old girl "Alice" has died tragically, but shortly after her death her family are hearing things in her old room and throughout their house. They set up a camera and when viewing they see a dark figure which looks like Alice. They continue taping and more and more see their beloved daughter, who somehow knew she was about to die.
The movie is filmed documentary style, and the trailer actually looks like and advertisement for a documentary on channel 10 or something like that. Chilling stuff at that.

Midnight Meat Train
In the US recently, the film has been highly anticipated, although only having limited release, the film still made a nice amount for the amount of screens it was on. It's a shame how much a film can be anticipated, yet the distributor only gives it a few cinemas. The film looks very good, and It was actually scheduled for release here in Spetember, but obviously that was cancelled,
Platinum Dunes
Next year, alongside the release of the remake of 80's flick "Friday The 13th", EzyDVD.com.au are re-issuing all chapters in the franchise, excluding the original. Fear The Forest

A new DIRECT-TO-DVD film is soon to be released worldwide. It's called "Fear The Forest".
The story follows Barbara, who is joined by friends head into the deep woods of the Northeastern Valley Woods to look for a "ghost-like beast" seen killing people a decade ago. During camping, their high spirits turn to FEAR when each person encounters a deadly terror!.
Judging from the trailer, the film looks promising, as most STRAIGHT-TO-DVD films these days are. It's one to watch out for when it gets released here down in Australia, hoepfully before mid 2009.
Dying Breed (November 6)

Dying Breed is a local Aussie flick that was initially supposed to be released on August 14, and then of course getting a November 6 release. The trailer looks good, and the flick is getting rave reviews. It Stars "Wolf Creeks" Nathan Phillips.
The story is about a woman who goes into the forest with a friend and their boyfriends, in search for whatever killed the womans sister. But what they stumble accross is much worse, cannibals who need to breed in order for their species to survive.
