PLOT SYNOPSIS, REVIEW
When their bus is crippled on the side of a deserted road, a team of high school athletes discover an opponent they cannot defeat - and may not survive. Staring hungrily at them through the school bus windows, the "Creeper" returns again and again. But when the teammates discover that it's selective about whom it attacks, it will test their ability to stick together - as the insatiable menace tries to tear them apart.
Awesome. Lets face it, while the first movie had it's moments, it was somewhat hard to watch, but the sequel is effortlessly creepy, and genuinely able to keep you on the edge-of-your-seat and make you jump. The opening scene sets up the story, and i'm glad there was a reference to the original film. So many scenes in this film are horrifying because that fugly creature is so scary to look at, and it literally makes you wanna cry. death scene after death scene, some were quick, some were better than others, but there was a satisfying amount of death and tension to keep the film going along nicely. The last 20 minutes was a little too dramatic, and does loose some points for being to over-the-top, but the last scene with an open-ending leaves you wanting more and more. There was some comical dialogue that sometimes fitted in with the situation, but sometimes didn't.
The plot was an extension to the previous films, and based within the same time frame, but with aq totally different scenario. The characters were mostly high school kids, and they were believable, and the little sub-conflict between some of them was nicely played out. I think that because there was around 20 kids on the bus, and we never knew what happened to about 7 or 8 of them at the end was a slight dissapointment, because resolution is everyhting.
The acting was average. A cameo by "Justin Long" was made, warning the school kids. "Jonathan Breck" played "The Creeper" and was brilliantly successful in scaring the pants of us. His eyes are huge, and his expression says it all.
Overall "Jeepers Creepers 2" is an effective and scary film, which is slightly better than it's preceeder. My rating is 3/5.
